Discover Buzzards Bay is celebrating the hundreds of public reserves and outdoor spaces that are open for enjoyment. During the month of April, we plan to highlight one preserve each day, pointing out places where you can get outside while following social distancing guidelines.
The Buzzards Bay Coalition is facilitating the installation of a new large nitrogen-reducing septic system in West Falmouth that helps demonstrate another way that neighborhoods around the Bay can reduce nitrogen pollution.
You need more than six feet of space between people to follow today’s social distancing guidelines from public health authorities. Lucky for us, we’ve got acres of fresh air, peaceful wooded trails, spirit-restoring beaches, and bracing breezes in abundance here around Buzzards Bay.
With a $100,000 state grant, the Buzzards Bay Coalition will replace 25 percent of the outer harbor’s conventional moorings with new conservation moorings designed to allow eelgrass to grow back in places where it was once plentiful.
