Keen to get out of the pool and back into the ocean? Buzzards Bay Coalition at Mattapoisett Town Beach for an acclimation swim to kick-start the open water swimming season!

We’ll be working on some techniques to get accustomed to chilly water temperatures, and discussing how to keep warm while swimming year-round. This event will be a great intro for those who want to join us for our spring open water swimming series, or start training for the Buzzards Bay Swim!

The average temperature for this time in April in Mattapoisett Harbor is around 45F, so wetsuit, goggles, and a bright colored cap are required. Neoprene caps, booties and gloves are recommended.

Hot drinks will be provided to warm up with afterwards.

Friends and family members who would like to join us on a kayak for added safety are more than welcome — just remember to dress for the weather!
