West Island is a breeding ground for piping plovers and a feeding and roosting area for breeding terns and other migratory shorebirds. Come witness the beauty of West Island in early evening during the migration season when shorebirds are on the move. In August, this is a great location to view fledgling plovers, terns, and other bird life. Under the right conditions, the views of the surrounding Bay are breathtaking.

Participants should bring birding equipment (optics, bird guide, camera – we have extra guides and optics in limited supply) and be prepared to walk the beach!

Preregistration is required by noon on Thursday, August 3.

Cost: $8 Lloyd Center members, $10 nonmembers (children under 12 half price)
