Get your little ones to discover the outdoors during Itty Bitty Bay Explorers, a series of four free outings on Wednesdays in February with the Buzzards Bay Coalition. Through fun games and hands-on activities, your family can learn about Buzzards Bay’s animals, plants, and habitats.

Itty Bitty Bay Explorers is recommended for families with children five and younger. We encourage you to attend all four programs, but it isn’t required.

  • Birds (Feb. 7)Discover what makes birds unique! Together, we’ll explore how birds are adapted to their habitats through interactive games at The Sawmill.
  • Invertebrates (Feb. 14): What’s an invertebrate? During this program at West Island Town Beach, you and your family will explore the beach and collect shells, learning about the invertebrate species that can be found on Buzzards Bay’s beaches.
  • Mammals (Feb. 21)Where are all of our furry mammal friends? Join for a walk along the trail at LaPalme Farm as we read a story and learn about how different mammals survive in the winter.
  • Fish (Feb. 28): Join us as we learn what make fish different from all other animals through crafts at The Sawmill.
