The SouthCoast Film Forum presents The Human Element, a new documentary film about our climate from Telluride’s Mountainfilm Festival 2018, which benefited the Buzzards Bay Coalition when on tour in New Bedford.

Renowned photographer James Balog documents the collision between people and nature through stories ranging from Chesapeake Bay’s dwindling Tangier Island to California’s record- breaking wildfires of 2017 to last summer’s three devastating hurricanes. Balog ponders how humans—“the fifth element” after earth, air, water and fire— are changing the natural world.

With heart and compassion, he tells a haunting story of the relationship of man and nature, and aims to inspire a greater balance.
