SouthCoast Film Forum brings back Mountainfilm On Tour to the New Bedford Whaling Museum theater on Saturday, November 3. This one-day, two-part festival of short documentaries is presented in partnership with the New Bedford Whaling Museum and the Buzzards Bay Coalition. The program features culturally rich and inspiring documentary films on climate change, agriculture, the migration of people and birds, an doutdoor adventures.
Founded in 1979 and based in Telluride, Colorado, Mountainfilm is one of America’s longest-running film festivals. Celebrating people, art, stories and ideas, it uses the power of film to inspire audiences to create a better world. The annual festival Tour goes to over 160 cities around the globe.
Last year’s two-part show in New Bedford was a sellout success, and enthusiastically received. Each program features different films; for the most immersive and rewarding experience, we hope you will plan on attending both sessions.
Part one will run from 3:30-5:30pm. Part two will run from 7:00-9:00pm. The mid-way intermission will feature a lobby reception with cash bar and snacks, or the opportunity to step out for a local meal.
