Coalition staff and volunteers participate in four so-called Nutrient Days this summer, collecting samples of water from numerous sites along the Bay for a more detailed analysis of nutrients present.
“My whole family has enjoyed fishing and swimming in Buzzards Bay,” says Meg Good Murner. She’s running for the Coalition this month as she has for the last two years because “I want it to be here for my kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.”
This Oregon resident flies back to the East Coast each year and runs the Falmouth Road Race with family members. She is raising money as a tribute to her environmentally-minded father and grandfather.
The Connecticut native has run the Falmouth Road Race many times, but this year she has decided to run for a cause: raising money for the Buzzards Bay Coalition.
The Buzzards Bay Coalition is a membership-supported organization dedicated to improving the health of the Buzzards Bay ecosystem for all through education, conservation, research, and advocacy.
