Whitetail deer are once again abundant in southeastern Massachusetts, but this was not always the case. Over hunting and development pushed the whitetail deer to the brink of extinction. But the whitetail deer has successfully rebounded due to successful stewardship. Come to Myles Standish State Forest to learn about the whitetail deer and how the relationship between man and deer has changed over time. This is an all-ages program. Meet in front of the interpretive center at the forest headquarters. Rain or shine.
