StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from The Hike, by Alison Farrell, were assembled on signs for you to stroll along the trails and enjoy. As you read along, you will notice the book was translated into Portuguese and Spanish.
The story will be installed for your enjoyment for three weeks at a time, rotating through three unique locations, throughout the summer.
When you visit, you are encouraged to check in via QR code to be eligible for prizes. Participants who attend and register for all four stories throughout the year will be recognized at the Acushnet River Herring Festival in May 2022 by our mascot Clean Water. Participants who register will also be entered into a quarterly raffle for some BBC swag!
