Whether it’s spring, fall, or winter there are bound to be at least a few hungry birds in your own backyard. So, why not make them feel totally at home with a handmade bird feeder? Not only will it satisfy their appetite, it’ll also give your lawn a colorful boost. And there’s really no better feeling than knowing you’re helping Mother Nature do her job.
For this Saturday at The Sawmill, we will forage for pine cones, identify birds on the Acushnet River, and make bird feeders with peanut butter, bird seed and pine cones. This program is appropriate for families. Comfortable walking shoes and layers are recommended.
Registration is free but required, as space is limited due to the need for social distancing. Priority is given to New Bedford families.
All participants more than five years old are required to wear a mask, in accordance with state regulations. All Coalition events are organized to meet current social distancing regulations, including limiting group size.
