Monthly Walkabout: Cloud Watching
This event happened in the past.Marion, MA 02738
The Sippican Lands Trust (SLT) is excited to partner once again with the Marion Council on Aging for upcoming walks this spring, summer and fall. The walks will showcase the wide variety of properties and trails managed by SLT and feature a theme for each walk. Please meet at the property’s parking area a few minutes before the walk starts.
Led by SLT board member Diane Cook, the August walk will be titled “Cloud Watching” and will be taking place at the Brainard Marsh property. During this quiet walk in the woods, remember to bring binoculars to see if you can find some things in nature made by animals or humans.
Brainard Marsh is open to the public and is accessed through an opening in a stone wall along Delano Road. The path leads to the Weweantic River through woodlands, sandy fields and a white sand beach with views of the Weweantic River and out to Buzzards Bay and Cape Cod. A spur trail leads past a wet meadow and a small pond, where heron are frequently sighted.
Brainard Marsh’s location is 1.5 miles down Delano Road from the intersection of Route 6, Point and Delano Roads, on the left hand side.
