Join the Marine Biological Laboratory for their Falmouth Forum lecture series! Dr. John Holdren of Harvard University presents “Climate Change and Cape Cod: What We Know, What We Expect, What We Can Do.”

Drawing on the most recent results from climate-change science, Dr. Holdren will summarize the causes and consequences of ongoing global climate-change in terms of what is already being experienced and observed as well as what is expected in the decades ahead. He will also address the options available to society for reducing the pace and ultimate magnitude of future changes in climate (“mitigation”) and for reducing the damages to human well-being resulting from the changes that nonetheless occur (“adaptation”). He will focus particular attention to changes expected on Cape Cod depending on whether global mitigation efforts are strong or weak.
