Don’t forget your mittens as we play and explore together by rivers and woods in the North End of New Bedford at the Ross C. Mathieu Nature Trail on Jordan Street. You will forget you are anywhere near a city! Guided by Jann Brett’s words in The Mitten, the magic of the wilderness and kindness of mother nature comes to life. This program is for families with children under five years old. Comfortable hiking shoes or boots are suggested and layers are recommended. This trail is less than a mile and easy to moderate but strollers are not recommended.

Registration is free but required, as space is limited due to the need for social distancing. Priority is given to New Bedford families.

All participants more than five years old are required to wear a mask, in accordance with state regulations. All Coalition events are organized to meet current social distancing regulations, including limiting group size.
