Hike the Boulders at Beebe Woods
This event happened in the past.Falmouth, MA 02540
Some 20,000 years ago, the Buzzards Bay arm of the Laurentide ice sheet retreated northward, leaving behind an undulating terrain of ridges, kettle holes, and glacial erratics along western Cape Cod. Within the 475 acres of Falmouth’s Beebe Woods, you’ll find all of these features.
Join the Appalachian Moutain Club for a 6+ mile hike traversing woodlands, the glacial moraine, around the Punch Bowl kettle pond, and down picturesque Esker Trail, passing nearly all of Beebe’s named boulders. If you’re lucky, you will get a peek of Buzzards Bay through the trees.
Some short, steep ascents/descents and uneven footing. The hike route may be modified in icy conditions.
Required: daypack with water and snacks, sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate layers.
