Post-Holiday Hike and Lunch
This event happened in the past.Carver, MA 02330
Join the Friends of Myles Standish State Forest a relaxed-pace two hour hike on parts of the Bentley Loop, the Torrey Pond Connector Trail and Road and other sections of the Wildlife Management area. The hike will pass a few ponds, kettle holes and vernal pools and will traverse one of the more scenic areas of the forest. The estimated hike distance is 4 – 4.5 miles.
Dress properly for winter hiking with hat and warm gloves. While hiking, multiple thinner breathable clothing layers that can be added or subtracted as necessary are very helpful on cold days. The ability to adjust to conditions is essential to having a good time and a safe trip.
If there is enough snow, snowshoes will be welcome. A note will be sent out several days before the hike assessing current trail conditions.
Later join the group for a buffet lunch at the New World Tavern. The lunch will start at 12:30.
