Mycologist Lawrence Millman will lead a mushroom walk in Myles Standish State Forest, focusing on ecology and identifying specimens rather than on edibility and medicinality. (He regards looking for mushrooms as the ultimate medicinal).

During the walk, he’ll discuss the ongoing drought and its effect on the mushrooms we’re finding…or not finding. He’ll also discuss the relationship between the fungi we’re finding and the habitat we’re investigating.

We will meet at the Myles Standish park headquarters. Hand magnifying lens’ will be provided for all participants. There will be no sharing of equipment.
