Film Screening: A Plastic Ocean
This event happened in the past.New Bedford, MA 02740
If it was happening in one place, they suspected it was happening in all of them. But the filmmakers needed experts to prove it.
In the center of the Pacific Ocean, researchers found more plastic than plankton. A Plastic Ocean documents the newest science, proving how plastics, once they enter the oceans, break up into small particulates that enter the food chain where they attract toxins like a magnet. These toxins are stored in seafood’s fatty tissues, and eventually consumed by us.
Join the Buzzards Bay Coalition and the New Bedford Whaling Museum on November’s AHA! Night for a showing of this powerful documentary film. Afterwards, stop into the Whaling Museum and the Coalition’s AHA! exhibits to learn what both institutions are doing to help preserve ocean health.
Occupancy in the museum theater is limited. Please register to reserve a seat.
