Mattapoisett, MA

Join us for a Fall StoryWalk®. The book that we are featuring in three different locations this fall is Stellaluna. Stellaluna gets separated from her mother and is adopted by a family of birds with very different habits. It is an award winning and bestselling picture book classic. The story has been assembled on signs for you to stroll along the trails and enjoy at Tinkhamtown Forest (Mattapoisett River Reserve), starting September 8th, 2021. It is a out and back walk so be sure to read the story on the back of the panels on your way out.

Please go to this link to access the book in Spanish.

When you visit, you are encouraged to check in via QR code to be eligible for prizes. Participants who attend and register for all four stories throughout the year will be recognized at the Acushnet River Herring Festival in May 2022 by our mascot Clean Water. Participants who register will also be entered into a raffle for some BBC swag, also being drawn at the Herring Festival.

The story will be traveling to another location in October. Please note the locations below.

October: Carvalho Farm, Fairhaven
