Bobolink Walk
This event happened in the past.Dartmouth, MA 02748
Join Mass Audubon and friends on Thursday mornings in June to view breeding Bobolink in the warm-season grassland at Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary in Dartmouth. With an unforgettable bubbling call, this bright yellow-capped bird is thriving in fields restored with native grasses since the early 2000s. Come see this striking bird and other early-successional bird species along a hike through shrubland and grassland. Learn how bird conservation practices can be compatible with grazing and haying.
Land managers will explain how the Mass Audubon site supports grassland birds, monarch butterflies, and local farmers. The walk is approximately two miles in length and no birding experience is necessary to join.
Cost: $10 Mass Audubon members, $12 nonmembers
