Help the Friends of Myles Standish State Forest start the New Year off with a family hike in Myles Standish on New Years Day.

You have the choice of a short hike or a longer hike:

A relaxing easy 2.5-mile walk around the lovely East Head Reservoir trail. The walk generally takes about an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half at a moderate pace. Fast walkers can do it in less than an hour.

or

If the snow allows, a smaller group will continue for another 4 to 5 miles on trails off the Equestrian parking lot behind Barrett Pond. (A 7-mile hike in total when you add in the connector trail.) This whole trip takes at least three hours.

Be sure to bring water and snacks with you! Dress warmly. When hiking, multiple thinner breathable clothing layers that can be added or subtracted as necessary
