Tour part of the pine barrens restoration area at Myles Standish State Forest with the Friends of Myles Standish group. The walk will start at the headquarters and head south on Southwest Line Road towards some areas already cut back by the DCR.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation has announced a 10 year plan to restore the pine barrens in the area of Charge Pond and Fearing Pond. This walk will tour some of the areas to be actively managed over the next 10 years. Paul Gregory, the DCR Forester, will join the group for part of the tour.

Meet at 9am for the hike start, or at 8 for a cup of coffee and/or breakfast at the Panera Bread off Long Pond Road.

Note: For updates and delays due to inclement weather, check the Friends of Myles Standish Meetup page.
