During Wednesday afternoons in May and through the summer, the Westport Fisherman’s Association will open the Horseneck Point Lifesaving Station, on the west end of Horseneck Beach. Built in 1888, this station is one of the last remaining of the series of coastal structures built by the Massachusetts Humane Society to provide assistance to shipwreck survivors. The Curators, the Westport Fishermen’s Association, rehabilitated the property as a museum and educational center and will continue to maintain the property under a 25 year lease.
