Each October, the bogs lining local country roads glisten crimson as Massachusetts’ famed cranberry harvest kicks into full swing. Harvesters flood the fields, corralling the tiny red berries that pop to the surface so they can be whisked away and prepared to grace our Thanksgiving tables.

For Joe Collins of Westport, volunteering with the Coalition is a great way to support improvements to Buzzards Bay. Because of his dedication and commitment, Joe was honored as volunteer of the year at the Coalition’s annual meeting this summer.

The Buzzards Bay Coalition’s work to restore clean water, protect watershed lands, and engage the community is carried out by a talented group of conservation professionals. Research Assistant

The Buzzards Bay Coalition seeks a full-time Research Assistant who will further water quality monitoring and salt marsh monitoring around Buzzards Bay. The Research Assistant position is a combination of desktop research and data management/statistical analysis, fieldwork, and equipment preparation and deployment. The Research Assistant will be experienced in environmental field research and data analysis using Excel and R, an effective communicator who works well with others, and capable of managing small projects. This position will be based out of our Science and Field Operations Center in Marion, MA. Please see the full job description for more information.
