In Memoriam – George Hampson

We are all deeply saddened by the loss of George Hampson. George was a founder of the Buzzards Bay Coalition and a very close friend to all of us here over the past three decades.

As a lifelong marine biologist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, George’s influence established the strong commitment to sound science that underpins all of the Coalition’s work. He was also a wonderful teacher and mentor to countless students, fellow board members, and staff.

Many thanks to Coalition members Curt Worden, Tom Gidwitz, and Susan Teal, who came together to make this short video to help us remember and celebrate George’s role in the creation and life of this organization that meant so much to him.
