Join Mass Audubon Director Ian Ives at the Ashumet Holly Wildlife Sanctuary in Falmouth, home to one of the largest holly plantations in New England. Ashumet features more than 65 types of hollies, ranging from American to Asian to European specimens, as well as the rare Franklinia tree. Learn about the natural history of the Sanctuary’s 50 original Hollies propagated by former property owner and Massachusetts’s first Agriculture Secretary, Wilfred Wheeler.

Holly Guides will be handed out free of charge. Participants can bring one grocery bag with them to fill with holly boughs for the holidays.

Cost: $10 adult, $8 child Mass Audubon members; $12 adult, $10 child nonmembers
