Walk a portion of the Southeastern Massachusetts Bioreserve between Slab Bridge Road and High Street in Assonet, including a visit to Big Hemi. This area is part of the Freetown-Fall River State Forest. Park and meet by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) statue at the forest fire station parking area on Slab Bridge Road.

Length of walk approximately 4 miles. Spring trails are usually wet and muddy. Wear appropriate footwear. Water and snack a good idea. Insect repellent not needed yet. Rain cancels walk.
