To help reduce the amount of plastic waste that enters the environment, Woods Hole Sea Grant is conducting a free shrink wrap recycling program on Cape Cod this spring. From April 16 through June 30 (while space lasts), boat owners can bring their clean, bundled shrink wrap to the Bourne Integrated Solid Waste Management Facility to be recycled.

Outside of the Buzzards Bay watershed, shrink wrap is also accepted at the Dennis and Eastham Transfer Stations.

The program can only accept clean, white shrink wrap. All doors, strapping, zippers and other non-shrink wrap materials MUST be removed from it. Please see instructions on how to bundle your shrink wrap for recycling.

This program is for Cape residents. Sea Grant cannot accommodate shrink wrap from boats off-Cape.
