Westport boasts beautiful shorelines that connect the Atlantic Ocean to Buzzards Bay. Horseneck Beach and Gooseberry Island are primespots for stunning sunrises, sunsets, and moonrises. That's why we partnered with DCR to bring you monthly Full Moon Walks that are bound to bring a refreshing experience to you and friends.

We'll rendezvous at pavilion 2 for a brief check-in. Then, we'll cross the boardwalk to the paved coastal pathway where the landscape opens wide and your senses are rewarded with the sights, sounds, and smell of the ocean.

We'll walk 1.3 miles past coastal sand dunes and campground en route to the Horseneck Point Life-Saving Station, where we'll watch the dramatic rise of the full moon as it lifts above the Buzzards Bay horizon. Restrooms will be available to use inside the Life-Saving Station.

Afterward, we'll make our return trip to Horseneck Beach with the full moon to our backs. Depending on the month, we'll enjoy sunset views on our inbound or outbound walk, and headlamps will be available to borrow.
