Check-in at the learning center, where we'll start with a seasonal storytime. Then, we'll head on over to the trailhead to handout gear. Kids will navigate the trails, explore the ecosystems, and discover plants, animals, and mushrooms along the way. Restrooms and a water bottle refill station will be available inside the learning center. Feel free to pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic in our outdoor amphitheater after the program.

We’ll cruise at a relaxed pace to Chapoquoit Beach, where we’ll take a 15-minute break to hydrate, snack, and maybe even hop in the water—your call! Then we’ll hop back on and enjoy an easy ride back to finish up our 8-mile round trip.

Join us for a relaxing guided paddle on the Westport River! We’ll meet at the Westport Town Landing (western launch) to check in and get ready. Then, we’ll hit the water and explore the peaceful river at a comfortable pace. Perfect for taking in the scenery and enjoying time on the water.

Expect to walk 1.5 miles through the pine-studded forest, around scenic ponds, and across gentle streams while taking time to identify plants and wildlife. This route features mostly flat terrain and one rooted hill to ascend, completing the loop. Perfect for all ages!

Time: 7:45 pm | Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

We'll walk 1.3 miles past coastal sand dunes and campground en route to the Horseneck Point Life-Saving Station, where we'll watch the dramatic rise of the full moon as it lifts above the Buzzards Bay horizon. Restrooms will be available to use inside the Life-Saving Station.

This laid-back program is perfect for kids interested in freshwater fishing. We’ll meet in the parking lot to check in and hand out all the gear—you don’t need to bring a thing. Then we’ll take a short walk to the pond, learn how to cast and reel, and see what we can catch.

Get ready for a fun, hands-on saltwater fishing adventure at Gooseberry Island! All equipment provided! No saltwater fishing license is needed for this event. Thanks to our partnership with the MA Division of Marine Fisheries, we’ve got you covered!

In partnership with Wareham CPPI (Commonwealth Preschool Partnership Initiative), we'll navigate the trails in search of hidden history, unique ecosystems, and the plants, animals, and mushrooms that call this place home. Then we'll make our way down to the river for more hands-on discoveries!
