Sailing is for everyone! This beginner and family friendly learn-to-sail activity is suited for all ages and offers a trip aboard our 12-person Drascombe Gig as you experience Onset Bay in a whole new way! Enjoy a 1-hour session around the bay as you learn a little about sailing from our experienced instructors! All equipment is provided!

This lesson is for ages 13 - 17. This beginner-friendly session with Gnome Surf is all about fun, ocean connection, and learning the basics.

Calling all mermaid and pirate enthusiasts! We're seeking a curious crew of young explorers (best suited for age 2-7) and their fearless guardians to cruise aboard our family-friendly, Bufflehead launch boat as we embark on a mermaid mission and pirate adventure, charting a course around Onset Bay! All participants required to purchase a ticket to join.

As we explore, we’ll pass through open spaces and shaded trails, stopping along the way to look for wildlife in some of the wetlands’ most active spots. Every trip is different—sometimes it’s buzzing with insects, other times it’s all about spotting movement along the water’s edge!

Walk 1.5 miles across the scenic river, past historical relics, and through the pine-studded forest while taking time to identify plants and wildlife. This route features mostly flat terrain and stone steps to complete the loop. Perfect for all ages!

In partnership with Wareham CPPI (Commonwealth Preschool Partnership Initiative), we'll navigate the trails in search of hidden history, unique ecosystems, and the plants, animals, and mushrooms that call this place home. Then we'll make our way down to the river for more hands-on discoveries!

Join us for an Itty-Bitty Bay Adventure at The Sawmill! We'll navigate the trails, explore ecosystems, and discover plants, animals, and mushrooms along the way. Afterward, we'll get hands-on at the outdoor amphitheater or inside the learning center to stay cozy if the weather isn't favorable.

Join Buzzards Bay Coalition for a scenic paddle through the protected waters of West Falmouth Harbor. We'll provide the kayaks, paddles, and life jackets! If you plan to bring your own gear, please email us in advance so we can plan accordingly. Along the way, we’ll take in views of salt marshes, wildlife, and quiet inlets before looping back to shore and wrapping up together. It's a fun relaxing time on the water you won't want to miss!

Our monthly dog walking programs are hosted by Buzzards Bay Coalition in partnership with OutHounds Adventure & Training Academy. We’ll meet at the Horseneck Point Lifesaving Station for check-in before setting out together at golden hour. From there, we’ll cross the causeway, stroll along the shoreline, and loop back through the main trail as the sun rises over Buzzards Bay!

Then we'll make our way down to the stream for more hands-on discoveries. Whether it's your first time or you're an experienced angler, this is all about having a great time and making some awesome memories on the water. All equipment provided! This laid-back program is perfect for kids interested in freshwater fishing. We’ll meet in the parking lot to check in and hand out all the gear—you don’t need to bring a thing. Then we’ll take a short walk to the pond, learn how to cast and reel, and see what we can catch.

Experience the magic of the outdoors after dark! During the first 20 minutes of the event, families can take part in a scavenger hunt to uncover a secret message and unlock a surprise glow item. Our glow walk begins at the start of blue hour. We'll explore meadows, riverbanks, forests, and swamps as twilight settles in. Along the way, we’ll search for fireflies and listen for frogs.

Join the Buzzards Bay Coalition and our partners from the American Red Cross for Adventure Ready — an empowering crash course in first aid and CPR compression basics. Perfect for hikers, outdoor enthusiasts, and families who want to be more prepared on the trail. This is an introductory session only — it will not provide certification. If you're inspired to take the next step, the American Red Cross offers full certification courses to continue your training.

We’ll cruise at a relaxed pace to Chapoquoit Beach, where we’ll take a 15-minute break to hydrate, snack, and maybe even hop in the water—your call! Then we’ll hop back on and enjoy an easy ride back to finish up our 8-mile round trip.

Expect to walk 1.5 miles through the pine-studded forest, around scenic ponds, and across gentle streams while taking time to identify plants and wildlife. This route features mostly flat terrain and one rooted hill to ascend, completing the loop. Perfect for all ages!

We'll walk 1.3 miles past coastal sand dunes and campground en route to the Horseneck Point Life-Saving Station, where we'll watch the dramatic rise of the full moon as it lifts above the Buzzards Bay horizon. Restrooms will be available to use inside the Life-Saving Station.
