Mattapoisett Town Beach is a small neighborhood beach nestled in the town’s village center. Spend a day swimming and relaxing on the sandy beach, with its lovely view of Mattapoisett Harbor and Buzzards Bay. On clear days, you can gaze across the Bay to the Elizabeth Islands beyond.

The beach is especially great for families with small children. Kids will have a blast splashing in the harbor’s calm waters as they watch boats motor from nearby Mattapoisett Town Wharf. And with a swing set and a slide located on the sand, Mattapoisett Town Beach is sure to be a hit with your family!

Habitats & Wildlife

The open waters of Mattapoisett Harbor are a great spot to watch for ospreys hunting for fish in summer. The harbor is also home to many other birds, including gulls, terns, cormorants, and more. Under the waves, striped bass are known to visit the harbor in spring, which attracts local anglers looking for their next big catch.
