Together with our partners, we work to permanently protect the Bay's most precious forests, wetlands, and farmlands. We are pleased to report some of our accomplishments here.

We've also provided vital assistance to a number of local land conservation organizations to preserve more than 300 acres from Westport to Wareham, including:

  • The Chapin White Farm: a former dairy farm that includes 91 acres of salt marsh, forested uplands, and freshwater wetlands on the East Branch of the Westport River;
  • Center Village: 28 acres of wetlands and forest abutting the Haskell Swamp Wildlife Management Area in Rochester;
  • Church Tract: 163 acres on the Mattapoisett River in Rochester to become a Wildlife Management Area;
  • Sperry Tract:  More than 13 acres of forest and wetlands, including a state-certified vernal pool, in Rochester.
  • Whitlock Landing: one acre on Wareham’s Agawam Mill Pond that will provide a much needed public access point to the Agawam River;
  • Tweedy & Barnes: 25 acres in Wareham that will provide public access to the Sippican River.
