On July 5th, the Coalition announced the completion of the Viveiros Dairy Farm Preservation Project, an ambitious land deal that permanently protects 120 acres of open space on Fairhaven’s Sconticut Neck. The property contains one of the largest salt marsh systems on Buzzards Bay and is one of the few remaining dairy farms east of New Bedford. The Coalition, as the grantee, will administer and coordinate the grants and work with specific partners on each project by making funds available for use as requested, providing regular progress and financial updates to NAWCA, and ensuring that the process runs as smoothly as possible...Read more [here] Photo by Tim Sylvia.
