Land Stewardship Director

The Land Stewardship Director will be responsible for all aspects of conservation land stewardship for Buzzards Bay Coalition protected lands. This will ensure that the natural resources on the property are protected, the public is able to safely enjoy the properties as appropriate and the requirements of the latest Land Trust Standards and Practices are met or exceeded. This includes the long term stewardship of all conservation restrictions/easements and management of fee owned lands.

The full-time position will be a key member of the Coalition’s Watershed Protection team and reports to the Vice-President of Watershed Protection. The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of conservation land management experience, a proven track record of success within similar mission driven organizations, demonstrated skills associated with managing rural and urban properties for conservation and recreation, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for the environment, Buzzards Bay and its watershed lands.

The position is based at the Coalition’s award-winning green building, the Buzzards Bay Center, on New Bedford’s historic waterfront. Conservation lands are located throughout the Buzzards Bay watershed from Westport to Plymouth and in Bourne and Falmouth on Cape Cod.

Outdoor Educator

The Buzzards Bay Coalition seeks an energetic, experienced, and talented leader in outdoor education to develop, coordinate, and deliver outdoor exploration programs for youth and the general public. The Outdoor Educator will be a key team member in the Education and Public Engagement department. Responsibilities will include providing hands-on, inquiry-based, outdoor exploration programs for youth and managing the Coalition’s popular Bay Adventures for families and adults.

This position is based at the Coalition's award-winning green building, the Buzzards Bay Center, on New Bedford's historic waterfront, and requires significant travel across the watershed. Evening and weekend work is required.

Development Assistant

This position provides support to the Development Office of the Buzzards Bay Coalition in developing and maintaining positive relationships with a diverse mix of individual, foundation, and corporate members and donors. Participate in a fast-paced team environment, ensuring high-touch customized communications with constituents. Contribute to the success of multiple fundraising events, and a full spectrum of fundraising activities, by providing administrative and logistical support, maintaining database and record-keeping integrity, and producing highly personalized communications. Maintain the Raiser’s Edge fundraising database to ensure accurate and up-to-date data, including constituent biographical data; gift, pledge, and transactional data; gift allocation coding; and constituent relationship linking. Support the production of timely and accurate acknowledgement letters for donors and funders. Provide administrative and logistical support for special events.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) and reports jointly to the Director of Membership and the Events Manager.

Buzzards Bay Discovery Center Manager

The Discovery Center Manager will be responsible for staffing and managing the Coalition’s Buzzards Bay Discovery Center in the village of Woods Hole, Mass. This is an exciting opportunity to engage the public around our mission in the epicenter of marine research and education.

This is a seasonal, summer position that includes work on weekends and holidays. There are two positions available. Applicants interested in working anywhere from 15-35 hours/week are encouraged to apply. The Buzzards Bay Discovery Center is open every day from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
