Annual Swim Buzzards Bay 2004

Starting off in the early hours of the morning, 68 stalwart
swimmers dove into the cool waters of Outer New Bedford
Harbor for a 1.2 mile swim to Fairhaven’s Fort Phoenix
– where they were feted and fed for their efforts. These
efforts – along with the swimming – resulted in the
group raising more than $25,000 for the work of the
Coalition. As one swimmer put it: “It‘s a great way
to start the day… you’ve done some good for the health
of the Bay and you got to enjoy it!”
