West Island is a breeding ground for piping plovers, and a feeding and roosting area for breeding terns and other migratory shorebirds. Come witness the beauty of West Island in early evening during the migration season when shorebirds are on the move. In August this is a great location to view fledgling plovers and terns, and other bird life. Under the right conditions, the views of the surrounding bay are breathtaking.

Pre-registration is required by 12 pm on Thursday, August 4th. A rain date is scheduled for Friday, August 5th.

Participants should bring birding equipment (optics, bird guide, camera – we have extra guides and optics in limited supply) and be prepared to walk the beach!

Cost: $8 Members, $10 Nonmembers
