During winter, the landscape can seem quite barren with its backdrop of snow and ice. However, our coastal shorelines are bustling with activity of migrant birds spending the winter. New Bedford Harbor offers some superb viewing. Wintering land birds, winter waterbird species, and perhaps a wandering seal are all potential sightings. The group will bird Fort Taber Park before carpooling to the Hurricane Barrier to take advantage of the Palmers Island area and the New Bedford Harbor Walk.
