Some places, some lands, are so important to the preservation and vitality of a living Bay ecosystem that the only way to truly protect them is to acquire them.

The Coalition, through our Bay Lands Center, aims to enhance the rate of land protection and the amount of protected shoreline, forestlands, and critical habitats in the Buzzards Bay watershed by serving as a coordination, service, and financial arm for local land trusts.

We work with landowners, landtrusts, and town officials to encourage Bay-focused watershed land protection, empower local land trusts, and educate private landowners about land conservation options. Our work is often collaborative, bringing together an array of private and public partners to encourage Bay-focused watershed land protection.
